I am a bass instructor and am also available for live & studio work.

I began as a self-taught bassist, learning songs by ear, playing locally, and writing original music. Realizing the need to express myself beyond my knowledge, private theory lessons were started as well as the research of many method books.

Traveling to California (on a scholarship) as well as New York, I have studied with Victor Wooten, Gary Willis, Dave LaRue, and Steve Bailey through the National Summer Guitar Workshop.

I have an extensive live playing history, including the main stage of Detroit's DTE Energy Music Theater. Currently, I've been playing around the Detroit area at such venues as The Magic Bag, Chene Park, Memphis Smoke, and Xhedos

I also have recorded on many different projects, playing diverse styles, both as a side man and a group member. Artists I have worked with include Motown singing & writing legend Barrett Strong,  Kirk Whalum, Faruq Z. Bey, James "Blood" Ulmer, Thornetta Davis, Jim McCarty, Johnny 'B' Badanjek, and Hugo Ferreira of Tantric.

Presently, I am dividing my time between teaching, playing live, and recording in the studio.

These real life situations, along with book knowledge, are used to teach all aspects of bass playing. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and abilities. My goal with teaching is to help every student find his or her own unique voice through their instrument.
