The goal is not to simply memorize theory information to be coldly pulled from your head and executed blindly. The goal is to express yourself openly and freely without restrictions, to the best of your ability. Stay true to yourself and not to what the trends are. Remember, you have something unique to say and the world is waiting to hear it!

Find and eliminate your weaknesses. Keep records of your playing on tape and also by writing down metronome settings and any thoughts or ideas about what you are working on. Set up a practice schedule that works for you but be flexible with it.

Remember to live a balanced life.
